Ladies aged between 25 and 64 will be invited to attend for a cervical smear every three years. Smears are undertaken by the practice nurse at the surgery.
Since December 2019, all cervical screening samples taken in England have been tested for high-risk HPV, which is more accurate than the previous method of cytology testing.
Ladies aged between 25 and 64 will be invited to attend for cervical screening.
From July 2025, those with a negative HPV result will be invited at 5 year intervals. Those whose sample indicates the presence of HPV or who have a recent history of HPV, will be invited more frequently. Smears are undertaken by the practice nurse or nurse associate at the surgery.
If you do not receive an invitation (and you are not currently pregnant or have not had a hysterectomy) then please telephone the surgery.
